Infertility

Traditional Chinese Medicine – A Holistic Approach

Infertility is defined as the failure to become pregnant after one year of unprotected intercourse. There are two types of infertility; primary infertility, which is infertility without any previous pregnancy; and secondary infertility, when there has been a previous pregnancy.

What are the common causes of infertility?

  • Ovulation problems
  • Tubal causes
  • Sperm causes
  • Unexplained infertility
  • Age-related factors

Additional causes of infertility can include:

  • Uterine problems
  • Endometriosis
  • Previous tubal ligation
  • Previous vasectomy
  • Prescription drugs and their side effects

Our natural approach for female infertility may include:

  • Correcting the underlying disturbance in the bio photonic information of your reproductive system (this is like your fertility software)
  • Acupuncture (proven to be effective in the treatment of infertility)
  • Herbal Formulas to support your individual condition
  • Dietary Changes
  • Exercising in moderation
  • Learning about the best time to conceive
  • Limiting caffeine and alcohol intake
  • Making lifestyle changes, such as smoking cessation

Of all the available treatments for infertility, acupuncture isn’t one that people usually think of first. But as you’ll see here, it’s actually one of the safest and most effectiveness treatments for infertility known to modern science. Why does it work so well? Because infertility isn’t usually a physical problem. It’s often an issue related to circulation or energy channels that govern the vitality of your body’s organs (including reproductive organs). Rebalancing those bioelectric channels can create enormous healing changes in the function of your reproductive organs. And the best part? Acupuncture is non-invasive, surprisingly. The needles themselves are virtually painless and barely enter the skin. That’s a huge contrast to the highly invasive (and embarrassing) probing, inserting, extracting, injecting and poking around typically undertaken by conventional infertility clinics.

At Thrive Wellness Center, we also look at these very important two factors:

  •  A disturbance in the bio photonic information of your reproductive system
  • Food sensitivities

What do I need to do prior to my appointment? Before your appointment with one of our highly experienced practitioners it is recommended that you first see your specialist and that your husband and you complete the tests to determine the possible cause of infertility. It is helpful if you bring all the previous medical reports and test results with you for the first consultation.

Most infertility patients are asked to record their basal body temperature every morning. A properly recorded basal temperature chart can give us a clue whether you are ovulating or not and the degree of hormonal imbalance. You will be asked to continuously record your basal temperature throughout the treatment process in order to evaluate your progress.
